Connecting the Scanmarker Reader in a multi user environment

Purpose of this document: When several scanners and computers using Bluetooth operate simultaneously in a room/office/classroom, a pairing process is necessary to enable the independent operation of each scanner-computer pair without mutual interference between the pairs.

Mac/iOS/Android/Windows support Bluetooth communication (except for Windows 7/8 which does not support it).

The following instructions explain how to perform the pairing process.

If there is no Bluetooth support or communication difficulties arise, use the included Bluetooth dongle (see instruction below) or the attached USB communication cable connection.

Connecting via Bluetooth:

1. Open Chrome browser and type the address: scanmarker.com.
2. Login in or Sign up.
3. Choose a 'Bluetooth' connection.
4. Turn on the scanner. (Press the transparent tip against a surface for three seconds. The green light will turn on and the blue light will blink).
   • After turning on the scanner, you will see the screen with the names of the captured scanners.

5. Look for your scanner name on the back of your scanner - BLEXXXXX.
   
   
   
   
   
6. Press your scanner name from the list then choose Pair. The blue light stays on.
   
   
   
   
7. Connect successfully.

Connecting via Dongle: (for desktop platforms, Mac/Win only)

Insert the dongle into a USB port.

1. Open Chrome browser and type the address: scanmarker.com.
2. Login in or Sign up.
3. Choose the 'Dongle' connection.
4. Turn on the scanner. (Press the transparent tip against a surface for three seconds. The green light will turn on and the blue light will blink.
   • After turning on the scanner, you will see the screen with the names of the captured scanners. (The search for the scanners may take some time)
5. Look for your scanner name on the back of your scanner - BLEXXXXX.
6. Press your scanner name from the list then choose Connect. The blue light stays on.
7. Connect successfully.

Connecting via USB: (for desktop platforms, Mac/Win only)

Connect the scanner to a USB port using the USB cable included

1. Open Chrome browser and type the address: scanmarker.com.
2. Login in or Sign up.
3. Choose 'USB Cable' connection.
4. Press the scanner name then choose Connect.
5. Connect successfully.
