1. Introduction

 

1.1 Overview

Welcome to ScanMarker Pro – your portable scanning and reading solution. This standalone device is designed to make reading, translating, and capturing information effortless. Explore its features to enhance your reading experience.

 

 

 

1.2 Turning On the Device

To turn on your Scanmarker Pro, press and hold the power button located on the side of the device until the LED indicator lights up. The device will initiate, and you'll be ready to start using its powerful features.

 

 

2. Features of Scanmarker PRO

 

2.1 Read 

 

The Read function is the orange icon.

 

Offline languages supported are English, Spanish, Italian, Spanish, French and German .

Online languages support 56 :

Chinese-Simplified Cantonese-Traditional, Chinese-Traditional ,English-US Arabic-Egypt Danish German Spanish-Spain Finnish French Italian Japanese Korean Dutch Polish Portuguese Russian Swedish South African Indonesian Malaysian Catalan - Spain Czech - Czech Republic Filipino - Filipino Croatian Lithuanian Hungarian Icelandic, Hebrew

The settings icon allows you to select between the 56 languages online available.

ScanMarker Pro allows you to effortlessly scan and read printed text. Simply slide the device over the text, and the integrated OCR technology will convert it into digital text, displayed on the device's screen while highlight each word.

You can scan printed text on paper and you an also scan a screen display text such as from a phone, tablet screen.

 

 

Reading can be set on single line or multiline.

Scanned text will be replaced when read by a new scanned text.

 

 

 

 

 

 

2.2 Dictionary

 

The Dictionary icon is blue

Scanmarker Pro dictionary is Collins Dictionary in English only

Explore word meanings on the go by using the built-in dictionary feature. Hover over a word, and the device will provide definitions, making it a handy tool for vocabulary enhancement.

 

 

You can listen the definition of the word in English British and American. 

To listen the definition press the speaker icon.

you can save sentence or words you wish to collect and listen later and again by pressing the star icon.

 

 

 

2.3 Translate

The translate icon is green.

Break language barriers with the translation feature. ScanMarker Pro can translate scanned text into multiple languages, allowing you to understand and learn content in your preferred language.

You can listen the original or the translate by pressing volume icon.

 

You can switch between 56 languages online to scan and translate.

 

 

 

2.4 Export

 

The export icon is grey colour.

 

To start a new file to export press the   icon.

 

Scan as much text as you need it will be saved in the file .

 

 

To export the Save the text and connect your pen to the computer with the provided usb cable.

In my computer drive please look for the storage of Scanmarker PRO

 

 

 

 

 

With this function you can take notes and save text for export to a computer for more editing or printing. Export scanned content will be exported as a TXT file , making it easy to store and share information digitally. 

 

you can change the name of the file in the pen 

 

 

 

2.5 Speak 

This function works with an online connection to the internet.

The icon colour is yellow gold.

The voice translation function supports up to 112 languages of voice only.
Enjoy live translating conversation with the speak feature.

Select the languages for speak and translate in the configuration icon settings on the upper left side of the screen.

 

 

By pressing the microphone, you can translate spoken words and phrases.

 

 

 

 

2.6 Recording

Capture important lectures or meetings with the recording feature. ScanMarker Pro allows you to record audio voice memo and save them as mp3 audio files to listen later on the pen or export to a computer.

 

 

Click on the red icon to start recording . 

Once a recording saved you can remove it later on if need it.

 

 

You can pause and play the recording at any time .

 

 

 

 

2.7 Favourites

This function let you save text from dictionary function with the star icon as words or sentences to listen repeatedly.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mark and save your favourite passages for quick access. The Favourites feature ensures that you can easily revisit and review essential information.

 

 

 

3. Settings

3.1 General Settings of the Scanmarker PRO

Customize your ScanMarker Pro experience with general settings. Adjust settings such as brightness, contrast, and scanning speed  reading voice and volume to match your preferences , activate wifi, connect with wireless earbuds via bluetooth.

 

 

 

 

**Currently Scanmarker Pro only supports 2.4G band Wi-Fi.

 

3.2  Device Language 

Connecting Scanmarker Pro with Wireless Earbuds via Bluetooth

The Scanmarker Pro allows you to connect to wireless earbuds via Bluetooth to enhance your scanning experience, providing a more immersive and hands-free interaction. Follow these steps to easily pair your Scanmarker Pro with your Bluetooth-enabled wireless earbuds:

1. Ensure Bluetooth is Enabled:

   • Make sure that Bluetooth is turned on both in your Scanmarker Pro device and on your wireless earbuds.

2. Put Your Earbuds in Pairing Mode:

   • To begin, place your wireless earbuds into pairing mode. This is usually done by holding down the power button or a designated Bluetooth button on your earbuds until the LED indicator starts flashing, signaling that they are ready to connect.

3. Activate Bluetooth on the Scanmarker Pro:

   • Power on the Scanmarker Pro. Navigate to the device’s Bluetooth settings through the menu. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled by toggling the Bluetooth switch or selecting the Bluetooth option from the settings.

4. Pair the Devices:

   • Once Bluetooth is activated on both devices, your Scanmarker Pro will search for nearby Bluetooth devices. Select your wireless earbuds from the list of available devices displayed on the Scanmarker Pro.
   • If prompted, confirm the connection on both the Scanmarker Pro and your wireless earbuds.

5. Test the Connection:

   • After pairing, test the connection by scanning a text. You should hear the text being read aloud through your wireless earbuds. If you encounter any issues, verify that the devices are within a reasonable distance and that Bluetooth is functioning properly on both.

6. Adjust Volume (Optional):

   • You can adjust the volume through either the Scanmarker Pro or your wireless earbuds, depending on your preference.

If you experience any problems during the pairing process, ensure that both devices have sufficient battery charge and try restarting both the Scanmarker Pro and the earbuds before attempting to pair them again.

Auto Play Function for Scanning

The Auto Play function is enabled by default on the Scanmarker Pro. When activated, this feature automatically reads aloud the text as soon as it is scanned, providing a seamless and hands-free experience.

• If Text Is Not Being Read: If the scanned text is not being read aloud, please ensure that the Auto Play function is not turned off. To check:
  1. Go to the settings menu of your Scanmarker Pro.
  2. Look for the Auto Play option.
  3. Confirm that it is toggled ON.

If the Auto Play setting is already enabled and you're still experiencing issues, ensure that your device's audio output is correctly set, and that there are no interruptions or errors in the scanning process.

Configuring Language Settings on Scanmarker Pro and Its Operating System

 

ScanMarker Pro supports multiple languages, ensuring accurate and personalized results.

 

 

The Scanmarker Pro allows you to personalize the device by selecting your preferred language for both the device interface and the supported operating system. Follow the steps below to configure language settings:

1. Access the Language Settings on Scanmarker Pro:

   • Turn on your Scanmarker Pro device and navigate to the settings menu.
   • In the settings, locate the Language option.

2. Select Your Preferred Language:

   • Tap on the Language option to see a list of supported languages.
   • The available languages include:
     • English
     • Spanish
     • German
     • French
     • Italian
   • Choose the language you prefer from the list.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In general settings you also activate the online version of the pen to access multiple languages for all the features that require internet connection.

3.3  Multiline Settings for Translation Function

The Multiline setting allows you to display scanned text across multiple lines when using the Translate function. This feature enhances readability and provides a more organized view of the translated text.

• Multiline Display: When enabled, the scanned text will be presented in separate lines, making it easier to follow along and understand the translation.

• Impact on Speaking Speed: Please note that the Multiline setting may cause a slight delay in the speaking speed compared to the Single Line reading mode. This is because the device processes multiple lines of text, which can take a bit more time to process and speak aloud.

By using the Multiline setting, you can improve the clarity of translated text, though there may be a minor tradeoff in speaking speed.
