In this step-by-step tutorial, you will learn how to download the desktop software for scanning external documents through the Scanmarker Web App.
1. How to Access and Log In to the Scanmarker Web App
Step 1.1: Launch Your Web Browser Chrome
- Open Google Chrome: Ensure you have the latest version of the Chrome browser installed on your computer for the best experience.
Step 1.2: Navigate to the Scanmarker Web App
- Enter the URL: In the address bar, type https://app.scanmarker.com/#/login and press Enter to go to the Scanmarker login page.
Step 1.3: Sign Up for an Account
- Click on "Sign Up": Locate and click the "Sign Up" button to create a new account.
- Fill in Your Details: Provide the necessary information, such as your email address, and a secure password.
- Submit Registration: After completing the form, click "Register" or "Submit" to proceed.
Step 1.4: Verify Your Email Address
- Check Your Inbox: Look for a verification email from Scanmarker in your email account.
- Click the Verification Link: Open the email and click on the verification link to confirm your email address.
Step 1.5: Log In to Your Account
- Return to the Login Page: Go back to https://app.scanmarker.com/#/login if you're not already there.
- Enter Your Credentials: Input your registered email address and password.
- Click "Log In": Press the "Log In" button to access your Scanmarker account.
2: Locate and Use the ScanToExternal Icon
After successfully logging into the Scanmarker web-based editor, follow these steps to scan directly into external applications:

Identify the ScanToExternal Feature:
- Locate the Icons: On the Scanmarker web app interface, look for the ScanToExternal option. This feature is represented by a group of icons Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint on the top editor menu
Download the scan to external feature
If you don't have the scan to external feature, the prompt will direct you to the Apps for download section in the web app of the felt side menu
Install the ScanToExternal program
A page will open with the installation links for your operative system Mac or windows.
Click on "Install" .
Download the file.
On the next page, you will see the information about this feature and how to use it as well as an instructional video
click on the "Download" button
The download file it will be in the downloads folder on your computer . The name of the file is.
Launch the downloaded file.
The file will not launch automatically.
Please locate the file, click to install it, and follow the instructions for completing the download.
The ScanToExternal shortcut will be installed on your Desktop.
Once installed a scantoexternal icon will be installed on your desktop.
Open the icon and click connect . The icon will be grey when the scanmarker is not conected
Once connected the icon will turn orange
