Desktop Software for Windows and Mac operative systems 

Download Scanmarker’s native desktop application, available for both Windows and macOS operating systems. This robust software enables users to scan text with their Scanmarker pen readers and directly input the scanned data into a variety of external applications, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, email clients, social media platforms, note-taking apps, and more. Available for OCR scan text and reading.  Not compatible for translation function.

In this step-by-step tutorial, you will learn how to download the desktop software for scanning external documents .

1.  Access and Log In to the Scanmarker Web App in order to download the scan to file installation pack. After successfully logging into the Scanmarker web software, follow these steps to scan directly into external applications:

2: Locate and Use the Scan2file Icon

1. Identify the Scan2file Feature:

   • Locate the Icons: On the Scanmarker web app interface, look for the Scan2filel option. This feature is represented by  a group of icons Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint on the  top editor menu .
   • If you had previously downloaded it will automatically open the desktop software . 

Download  the scan to external feature

If you don't have the scan to external feature, the prompt will direct you to the Apps for download section in the web app of the left side menu

• • If you don't have the desktop software it will prompt the download section to choose the software.

 Install the scan2file program : A page will open with the installation links for your operative system Mac or windows.  Click on "Install" .

Download the file.

On the next page, you will see the information about this feature   and download button.

click on the "Download" button

The download file it will be in the downloads folder on your computer . The name of the file is.

 Launch the downloaded file.

The file will not launch automatically. 

Please locate the file, click to install it, and follow the instructions for completing the download.

On the installing process prompt of the visual C++ package if is not installed please choose yes and continuee instalation

The ScanToExternal shortcut  icon will be installed on your  Desktop.

Open the icon and click connect . The icon will be grey when the scanmarker is not connected.

Click connect button and choose your connection type in order to start using the pen reader.

Be sure your pen reader is with battery and turn on . When you turn on the scanned long click 4 sec on a surface the light on the scanning window should turn ON.

     

Once connected the icon will turn orange
