If your Scanmarker Pro is not turning on or does not show a charging icon, please follow the steps below. Most charging issues are caused by incorrect chargers, insufficient initial charging time, or power sources that supply unsafe voltage levels.
1. Charge the Scanner for Several Hours (Important for New Devices)
Newly purchased Scanmarker Pro units must be charged for a few hours before first use.
This step is stated in the product manual and helps activate the battery properly.
If the device is brand new and appears not to turn on, charge it continuously for several hours and try again.
2. Only Use Safe, Verified Charging Sources
The Scanmarker Pro must be charged only with 5V USB power sources.
Using a charger that outputs more than 5V will damage the device.
⚠️ Voltage Warning
Any voltage above 6V can immediately destroy the scanner’s charging circuit.
This can happen if:
A charger outputs more than the regulated +5V
A cheap or unregulated charger spikes voltage when first plugged in
A defective charger produces unstable voltage
3. Recommended Charging Method
To protect your device:
✔️ Use
A computer USB port (safest option)
A branded 5V USB charger from a reputable retailer
The original charging cable included with your Scanmarker
❌ Avoid
Cheap or unbranded chargers
Fast chargers, “quick charge” adapters, PD chargers, or anything above 5V
Chargers from unknown manufacturers
USB hubs with unstable power output
4. Before Charging, Check Your Charger’s Output Voltage
Always verify that the charger clearly states:
Output: 5V
If it lists 9V, 12V, “PD,” “QC,” or multiple voltage levels — do not use it.
5. Charging Indicators
When charging correctly, your Scanmarker Pro should:
Show a charging battery icon on the screen
Make a short beep or activation sound when connected (depending on model)
While charging the battery status will show the charge level.
If none of these appear, the issue is likely related to the power source or cable.
6. Still Not Charging? Try These Steps
Switch to a different USB port on your computer
Try another 5V branded wall charger
Try another USB cable
Clean the charging port gently
If the device still does not show any signs of charging, contact our support team with:
A video of the device connected to the charger
Photo of the charger’s output label
Confirmation of the cable used
Summary
To avoid damage and ensure proper charging:
Charge the scanner for several hours before the first use
Charge only with 5V USB sources
Do not use fast chargers or cheap chargers
Always verify voltage before connecting
These steps protect your Scanmarker Pro and ensure long-term reliability.
